The Declaration of Gaborone 2024 

We the Members of the Global Association Of Clinical Officers and Physician Associates  having formed a unified, indivisible, and certified Association through ordinary and associate membership of national associations legally incorporated under the laws of Ghana;

To maintain a globally recognized uniform curriculum; the highest level of medical training and practice; adherence to ethical principles and good professional conduct;

To uphold and defend the integrity and competence of the medical profession and colleagues at all times;

And to seek a unified and dignified nomenclature that accurately reflect our training, practice, professional autonomy and culture for the purpose of promoting global uniformity and identity;

In our Quadrennial International Executive Council Meeting at the 4^th International Delegates and Scientific Conference in Gaborone Botswana, sequel to the Council Decision in Kigali Rwanda 2020 and the Conference Resolution in Putrajaya Malaysia 2023;

Do hereby adopt, declare and Give unto ourselves the unified name PHYSICIAN ASSOCIATES/ CLINICAL OFFICERS and SHALL be implemented by all constituent memberships in accordance with national legislation.

Do hereby adopt and declare the newly proposed occupational classification Clinical Practitioners by the International Academy of Physician Associate Educators (IAPAE) for ILO.
